Kern Projections Festival Awards Dinner
Over the past few weeks Higher Definition Media has been actively involved with the first annual Kern Projections Film Festival. We had the opportunity to donate both time and equipment to help make the festival a success and in return we received a special invitation to the awards dinner! It was a huge honor to be able to attend, especially since the tickets went for $150 per plate. The dinner took place at the Metro Galleries in downtown Bakersfield. It felt like a real night at the Oscars! We enjoyed a beautiful 3 course meal and later watched as each award was handed out to it’s well deserving director.
It’s a Wrap!
After two grueling long weeks of 12-16 hour days on set, we are officially done shooting our first full length feature film! I can’t believe we managed to pull it off… it was tough, we made a couple of cuts, but we did it. Now I have the daunting task of editing and a whole lot of post production work. I’ll be sure to let you all know when it’s finished. In the meantime, check out a draft of the Stamped! movie poster! designed by Matt Thompson, who plays Cody in the film.
The film, entitled Stamped!, was written and directed by Bryce Hatch of Inspiration Studios and the synopsis of the movie goes a little something like this…
Stamped! is a hilarious and dramatic story set in modern-day high school. As students make-up a Saturday state mandated test, teenage misfit Mitchell (Brian Kubach) psychoanalyzes and takes apart Tori (Lindze Letherman), a haughty socialite, Cody (Matt Thompson), a blockhead jock, DeShawn (G. Lane Hillman), a smart homeboy, and Vanessa (Kaitlynn Lerma), a quiet Latina. After torturing them about their roles in life, Mitchell introduces them to his world. They escape from the testing library, find out each other’s deep dark secrets, and play practical jokes on a nerdy administrator Mr. Kimmer (David Pires). During this time, they break down the social barriers and stereotypes that high school has “stamped” them with.

Ok, so I’ve been really busy with this feature film I’ve been doing that I haven’t had time to update my blog… so I’m gunna go the easy route and post some photos because they say a photo is worth a 1000 words. So, here ya go!
