Laurie + Johnny | Wedding Film

We’ve been looking forward to Laurie and Johnny’s wedding day ever since their Engagement Shoot. Laurie and Johnny are so relaxed and great to work with! We also knew we would be working with a great crowd since this is the second wedding we have done for the Clerou family. We are so glad they liked us enough to hire us for a second wedding!

We where also lucky to have worked once again with a fantastic group of vendors! Special thanks to Brenna of Seven Oaks, Tim and Jennifer of Artisan Photography, Garden District Flowers, and Mark of Freestyle who is seen breakdancing in this film. We’ve said before and we’ll say it again, awesome vendors make for an awesome wedding! We appreciate everything these vendors have done to make this wedding all the more beautiful and memorable! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Clerou!

Lucy + John | Wedding Film

I wish every couple we worked with could be as excited about video as Lucy and John. They made video such a priority and I think it really shows! We are so glad they put so much trust in us and let us “just do our thing”. They really are the “Ideal Client”.

Lucy and John had a beautiful wedding at the Dolphin Bay Resort and Spa in Pismo Beach, CA. It just so happened that Lucy was in the very same room as a previous bride from earlier this year. Things just really fell into place with this wedding. Big thanks goes out to Panacea for making Lucy and John’s wedding even more beautiful with their florals. Thanks to Perry from Kramer Entertainment for putting on such a great show! It has been a while since we have seen so much energy in a room! This will be a wedding we will remember for years to come!

Bryana + Francisco | Wedding Film

We got off on such a great start on the morning of Bryana and Francisco’s wedding. It helps when you are getting ready at The Padre, it makes our job easier working in such a cool and unique place! Also, having a Fairy Godmother makes a big difference! Colleen and her staff did such an amazing job! It was 106 degrees, but there was an abundance of ice cold Dr. Pepper which made it a lot easier to bare. It also was nice to be close to the Kern River which seemed to make it a few degrees cooler! Interesting fact, we came to learn that the Kern River (the very same river seen in this wedding film) happens to be the 9th deadliest river in the world. Yep, the WORLD! Just thought we should pass that along.

Anyway, it was a great wedding! Bryana is so sweet and Francisco is such a nice guy! Their entire wedding party was so nice and we had shared some great laughs with their groomsmen. Congrats goes out to Bryana and Francisco!

Meet the HDM team!

We’ve finally got around to updating our Wedding Promotional Video. We had some fun putting this together… I’m sure there will be a bloopers/outtakes soon to follow. Enjoy!

Lynne + Jeff | Wedding Film

I don’t think this film does any justice to how beautiful this wedding was! What an incredible day with incredible weather and incredible locations and an incredible couple! We had such a good time with Lynne and Jeff. It was our first time meeting Lynne and Jeff and we were not quite sure what to expect… it only took a few minutes and I knew right away what kind of wedding film was going to fit Lynne and her new husband Jeff. Just like the tempo of her film, Lynne is so upbeat, happy, excited, and full of energy! We where laughing and smiling all day to the point we where sore! These two really know how to celebrate and have a great time! Congratulations go out to the new Mr. and Mrs. Foster! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day.

The Measure of a Man Press Release

HIGHER DEFINITION MEDIA IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE IT’S THIRD FEATURE FILM:
“THE MEASURE OF A MAN”

The inspiring true story of Donald P. Bailey, a charming and eccentric father of nine, who’s charisma and optimism set him apart from the average dad.

The independent film company, Higher Definition Media (HDM) began principal photography on July 5th, 2010. The film was shot on location in Kern County, where the incredible true life story of Donald P. Bailey is recreated by writer and director Elizabeth Waite. Waite remakes the endearing character driven story of her father; a man whose optimistic personality and discipline lead him through the Great Depression, WWII, and set him apart from the average father as he and his wife Emogene raised nine children with the love of music and his golden voice.

HDM headed to Hollywood, where auditions were held for two weeks with talent from across the country. The cast includes: Jarin Stevens as Donald P. Bailey, and Jennica Schwartzman as his wife Emogene. Their teenage counterparts are played by Gabriel Myers and Tina Mirka. Jules Hartley plays Elizabeth, narrator of the story. The nine talented children are: Christopher Slaughter, Madeline Penn, Alana Hamilton, Cody Sullivan, Blythe Butler, Carsen Warner, Jadon Sand, Cole Sand, and Jaden Melashenko.

Andrew Waite, owner of HDM, produced the film. Also working on the film is production manager Amber Waite. A large crew, including some local members, was pooled for the six weeks of shooting. The original musical score was composed by talented local composer Briana Sorkin-Lee.

On Friday, January 14th, 2011, the shooting was officially wrapped and post-production began. The film is scheduled for it’s Premiere at the historic Fox Theater in Bakersfield on Friday, March 25th, 2011. Tickets are available for $12 at the Fox Ticket Office and through Vallitix.com. The Fox Theater will also have a Matinee showing on Saturday, March 26th at 2:00pm.

HDM offers the largest inventory of feature film equipment rentals in Kern County and produces commercials, wedding films, television shows, and full-length feature films.

That’s a WRAP!

We are proud to announce we have wrapped our third feature film! It’s in the can and off to Post Production from here! We have already gotten to watch a rough cut of the film and it looks GREAT at just a hair over two hours long! More to come soon!

Amy + Askia | Wedding Film

Sometimes we work with clients that, due to distance, we are not able to really meet or spend a lot of time getting to know before their wedding. Amy and Askia are from New York, which posed a challenge for us. We really like to get to know our clients so as to create something that suits their personality just right. However, In the brief time we got to spend with Amy and Askia before their wedding we knew exactly what it was we where going to do. Askia, is a really cool dude with great taste in music and we knew immediately their video would call for a very soulful song. We also knew right away that they would appreciate the artistic choices of color… or lack there of. We had a great time working with Amy and Askia! They are the nicest couple and so down to earth. We feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to have worked with them on their wedding day. Congrats to Amy and Askia!
