Here’s your chance! Higher Definition Media is in need of extras for their upcoming feature film! Available extra parts range from talent show attendees (250+ needed), doctors, nurses, neighbors, farm laborers, cement plant employees, social workers, moonshiners, and everything in between. Our shoot dates are from July 6th to August 6th in the Bakersfield, Shafter, Tehachapi and Bodfish areas. If you’re at all interested send me an email at amberw8@gmail.com. A brief introduction to our latest Feature Film!

HDM is in pre-production of it’s third feature film! The journey of this film, entitled “The Measure of a Man”, started back in November of last year when Elizabeth Waite, inspired by her own true story and the unforgettable memories of her father, began to write her first screenplay. She brought it to the attention of HDM and pre-production started almost immediately. Fast forward to today and her screenplay, originally titled “Songs my Father Sang”, is well on it’s way to becoming a reality! We’ve worked countless hours on pre-production work including casting, permits, location searches, etc. and finally we’ll start our 5 week shoot on July 5th with some of the most talented cast and crew ever. I can’t express how excited I am to be involved! I can’t say this enough but it’s a really great script and it’s going to make for one amazing film!

“After being raised in an Oklahoma orphanage, 15 year-old Donald makes his way to California during the depression. He meets Emogene, the daughter of poor migrant farm laborers, and together they set out to break the cycle of poverty and ignorance.

This is the inspiring true story of Donald P. Bailey, a charming, and eccentric father of nine, who’s charisma and optimism set him apart from the average dad. But his golden voice made him a legend to his posterity for generations. His unique life is remembered through the eyes of his daughter, Elizabeth.”

Casting is well underway for our next feature film “The Measure of a Man”. We are in our first day of auditions in Hollywood. We have seen some tremendously talented actors. We are very excited and will be sharing our cast lineup soon. Still have two weeks more of auditioning down here to go. Exciting times!
